Introduction

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

These businesses are registered with the Queensland Department of Employment and Training (DET) to deliver nationally accredited training programs. There are two types of RTOs - TAFE institutes and private training organisations. They deliver language, literacy and numeracy training throughout most of Queensland depending on need and availability of staff.

Community Adult Literacy programs

Community Adult Literacy Programs have developed in response to a need for flexible provision. Students are offered one-to-one tuition with a volunteer tutor or small group tuition.

TAFE Institutes

TAFE Institutes offer Literacy, Numeracy, English as a Second Language, Workplace Literacy and Volunteer Tutor Training.

Students are individually interviewed and assessed before enrolment to determine which provision is best suited to their needs.

Private Training Organisations

These businesses provide Language, Literacy and Numeracy support to learners throughout the state depending on need and availability of staff. They operate independently and offer a range of training to learners wanting to develop better literacy skills for personal, training and workplace needs. Programs are customised to individual and workplace needs.
